SHELTER2HOME-HAITI, SA (S2H-HAITI) was incorporated in Haiti in October 2009, three months before the January 12, 2010 earthquake. We are committed to the philosophy that our role in Haiti is to provide a hand-up, not a hand-out, and ultimately contribute to the sustainability of the country by addressing the triple bottom line; the measure of economic, ecological, and social success. It is for this reason that we have located our first manufacturing facility in Les Cayes, Haiti, and are helping to contribute to the local economy through the employment of Haitian youth.
Jocelyn Nelson, Project Manager S2H-Haiti, is a graduate of the Pwoje Espwa Sud Vocational Schools in Les Cayes, Haiti, where he became knowledgeable of Masonry, Carpentry, Welding, Electrical, and Plumbing. Jocelyn is responsible for implementing all S2H-Haiti projects, directing and training personnel, as well as managing and tracking project schedules and budgets. His leadership is clearly regarded by all of the S2H-H employees and is known to all as “Ti Boss”, a name well deserved.
