Pwoje Espwa Orphanage Girls Homes – Torbeck, Les Cayes, Haiti

In an orphanage that grew to nearly 700 boys after the January 2010 earthquake, approximately 30 young girls took refuge. It is understandable to see how 30 girls living in a village of 700 boys may have its challenges, so Shelter2Home was commissioned through Reconstruction Efforts Aiding Children without Homes (REACH) to design and build homes that would be separated from the boys village. These homes feature three bedrooms, one of which is for a house mother, as well as a bathroom and living room. Kitchen and Dining functions occur outside of the home.
